Celebrate National Orienteering Week with EMPO at Tawasentha Park in Guilderland, NY!  Everybody gets a prize. (1 prize per map purchased)

The main event will be a score-o course with a mass start promptly at 12:00 PM (noon). Registration will start at 11:00 AM.   Please allow time to park and register.  After the 12:00 PM start, you will see the map for the first time, and will have a 75 minute time limit to plan your strategy and find as many control points as possible in the park.  Some controls will be on trails and nearby, while others are farther away and/or in the woods and thus worth more points towards your final score.  When everyone returns, final scores will be tallied and raffle tickets will be handed out -- everybody gets one ticket, but the more points you earn on the course, the more tickets you can get, increasing your chances for a top prize!

Top prize is a pair of Icebug orienteering shoes.  Also available is an Orienteering USA short-sleeved technical shirt.  Other great prizes include a year's membership in Orienteering USA, free entries to EMPO orienteering events, copies of our magazine Orienteering North America, and more!

There will also be a standard beginner's level course (white/yellow difficulty) available.  You can register and start this course anytime between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM.    If you're back before the prize raffle, you'll get a ticket.
